Small Wars Journal is a publication connected to Arizona State University that shares conversations, research, and perspectives surrounding global affairs, leadership, and modern conflict. Malibu West partnered with the organization to help support and modernize its media presence through video production, editing, and strategic content support. Our role focused on helping important conversations feel more accessible and engaging across digital platforms while maintaining the professionalism and credibility the journal is known for. Through expert interviews, event coverage, and edited media content, we helped create digital assets designed to expand awareness around the journal’s work and featured contributors.
The Process
1. Expert Interviews + Video Production
We helped conduct and produce interviews with experts and contributors connected to Small Wars Journal. These interviews were designed to highlight important conversations in a format that felt engaging, professional, and approachable for digital audiences.
2. Video Editing
Our team transformed interviews and existing footage into polished long-form and short-form videos for YouTube and digital distribution. The goal was to make the content easier to consume while helping extend the reach of the journal’s conversations and publications.
3. Media Consulting + Brand Support
Malibu West supported the organization and its team through ongoing media guidance and consultations focused on helping the journal stay relevant and effective across digital platforms while maintaining its established credibility and mission.
4. Event Coverage + Copywriting
We attended and documented an NYC 911 memorial event to represent the publication and report on the conversations.
